VIII. International Corporate Governance Summit was held on January 14, 2015 at Sabancı Center with more than 500 participants from different counrties. The Summit was broadcasted live and the videos are available on our Youtube channel.
Three different sessions welcomed the guests at the beginning of the Summit. The sessions focused on Human Rights & Business, OECD Corporate Governance Principles Revision and Effective Functioning of the Board. Esteemed guests in each session shared their expertise and experiences with the participants.
After the opening speeches from TKYD Chairman Mr. Mehmet Göçmen and Capital Markets Board Acting Chairman Mr. Bekir Sıtkı Şafak, StratejiCo President Mr. Selim Oktar announced the results of the 2014 Corporate Governance Perception Research Report. The report covers 297 survey results across Turkey on the relevance, benefits and shortcomings of Corporate Governance according to Turkish professionals.
The Corporate Governance Awards were then presented to the winners which are;
- Non-public company with highest Corporate Governance Index score: Garanti Pension
- Highest score on the Board category: TAV Airports
- Third highest score on the Corporate Governance Index: TAV Airports
- Second highest score on the Corporate Governance Index: Anadolu Efes
- Highest score on the Corporate Governance Index: Industrial Development Bank of Turkey (TSKB)
The sponsors also received their plaque from TKYD Chairman Mr. Mehmet Göçmen for their support in the realisation of the VIII. International Corporate Governance Summit.
The Summit continued with the main session of the day with Istanbul Financial Center Initiative Chairman Mr. Artunç Kocabalkan as the moderator, Borsa Istanbul Chairman Mr. Ibrahim Turhan, Sütaş Group Chairman Mr. Muharrem Yılmaz, Pegasus Airlines Chairman Mr. Ali Sabancı and Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) Vice President Mrs. Cansen Başaran Symes as the speakers.
VIII. International Corporate Governance Summit concluded with the cocktail.
